PROGRAMME UPDATE: please note, the talk has been rescheduled and moved to The Studios Building, Piazza, MediaCity UK at 6pm. It is still free to attend with no booking required.
Future City 2015 comprises the futuristic digital firework spectacular, PixelPyros by Seb Lee-Delisle plus a tech workshop with Leeds based innovator / artist Stuart Childs.
PixelPyros: Friday 13th / Saturday 14th March: 6pm - 10pm
PixelPyros is a virtual pyrotechnics display projected onto a massive 60-foot wide screen using state of the art projectors and lasers. A FREE event taking place 6pm until 10pm on 13th and 14th March and placed on the Piazza at The Quays / MediaCityUK, the international home for world-class art in public spaces. PixelPyros' BAFTA award winning artist Seb Lee-Delisle invites audiences to get up close and personal with digital art by touching bright orbs of light on the screen to fire off beautiful multi-coloured rockets.
At the same time multi disciplinary artist Stuart Childs will be on hand with an innovative tech maker stall. Audiences can create and take home their own personalised artwork.
"At most firework displays, it's the qualified pyro technicians that get to have all the fun. PixelPyros turns that on its head and actually relies on the audience to make it happen." (Lee-Delisle)
IRL - Bringing Computing Into The Real World: Friday 13th March: 6pm

We all love our computers but generally they are mostly something we keep indoors. In this fun and interactive session, the artist will show you that really amazing things can happen when you take them into the elements.
