Silver Winner – Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2010
The multi-award winning Imperial War Museum North, designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, represents a globe shattered by conflict.
A great day out for people of all ages, visitors can explore the history and impact of war through powerful exhibitions and dynamic displays that bring the stories of real people to life. Immerse yourself in the heart of the action with the complete sensory experience of the Big Picture Show (a 360-degree light and sound show), get hands-on with objects from the collection in special handling sessions, take in an introductory tour to the museum, or get in the spirit of “make do and mend” in a free fun family craft session.
Complete your visit by venturing up the 29-meter-high Air Shard viewing platform and take in the spectacular views across The Quays and Manchester, and stop by The WaterShard Cafe to enjoy a delicious morning or afternoon snack, or relax over a spot of lunch.
Free entry. Open daily 10am - 5pm (closed 24, 25, and 26 December)
Car parking for 150 cars (charges of £4 apply).
